Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the Orioles history goes back to 1894, when they were known as Milwaukee Brewers. They are now nicknamed 'The O's' and 'The Birds'. Being a controversial team throughout history it is no surprise their war song tradition has been considered disrespectful against the national anthem. Even though the beloved and strong tradition is still alive until today. 'O' as it is known is not only the short for 'Oriole', but also the most noticeably aspect of the Baltimore accent and the shout the fans perform when the National Anthem is being sung.
