Team Information
The Chicago White Sox are the defending World Series Champions. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the White Sox is one of the two major league teams from this city. The other team is the Chicago Cubs of the National League.
In the early 20th century the White Sox were a very strong team but dropped in the aftermath of what has been known as the Black Sox Scandal. A huge controversy over some fixed games the team arranged to benefit bettors. This MLB betting conspiracy resulted in the lifetime banning of eight White Sox players from the mayor league.
It wasn't until 2005, when the team ended with decades of frustration when it won its first World Series Championship since 1917.
