Team Information
The Toronto Blue Jays are the only MLB team based outside the United States that has won the World Series. They play in the Eastern Division of the American League.
The team has been playing since 1976, but it wasn't until 1983 that they had their first respectable season, finishing fourth by the end of the season. By 1985 they had their first championship of any sort. They won the first of their five American League East Division titles. They showed a strong pitching and a balanced offense, ending two games ahead of the New York Yankees. The Blue Jays than had to play with the Kansas City Royals in the American League Championship Series. They started with a 3 to 1 games lead. Unfortunately the Kansas City team won three consecutive games to win the series 4 games to 3. After that, the Royals went to play their first and only World Series championship.
