Team Information
Funded in 1967, the Indiana Pacers first played in the ABA (American Basketball Association), which was an alternative league to the NBA (National Basketball Association). Their first six years would be played in the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum, now known as the Pepsi Coliseum. In 1974 the team moved to the new Market Square Arena in downtown Indianapolis, this would be their home for the next 25 years. In 1999, they moved once again to the Conseco Field.

The Indiana Pacers joined the NBA for the season of 1976-77 with three other teams. These were the Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and the New Jersey Nets. Their early NBA years were a struggle for the Indiana team, reaching the playoffs only six times in their first 17 seasons and having only two winning seasons for this period. Their first NBA playoff appearance was in 1981 against the Philadelphia 76ers, a series that they would end up losing. It would be their only playoff appearance between 1977 and 1987.

Recently the Indiana Pacers have been fighting to return to glory, they have managed to win 4 Division Titles between 1995 and 2004.

For 2006-2007 off season the Pacer's roster have seen a big change in hope of reaching the playoffs. They drafted James White and Shane Williams, also trading forward Austin Croshere to the Dallas Mavericks for guard/forward Marquis Daniels and acquired from the same team Darrell Armstrong, Josh Powell and Rawle Marshall in exchange for Anthony Johnson.
