Team Information
The Carolina Panthers began in the NFL as an expansion team in 1995. Their first 2 years were very successful. They finished their first season with a record of 7-9, a new record for an expansion team.
The Panthers second season saw them surprise everyone by making it all the way to the Conference Championship. They lost to the Green Bay Packers 30-13. They also had 8 players make it to the Pro Bowl that year.
The next few seasons were not good for the Panthers but things started to turn around in 2002. In 2003 the Panthers made it all the way to the Super Bowl. A game many people say was one of the best Super Bowl games ever played. The Panthers lost after a last second field goal by the New England Patriots won the game. Even though the Panthers are a fairly new team they have already seen one member inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Reggie White was inducted in 2006.
