The Dallas Cowboys became part of the NFL in 1960 as an expansion team. They were first known as the Dallas Steers and then the Dallas Rangers.
The Cowboys are undoubtedly one of the most successful teams in the NFL holding several league records. The Cowboys have appeared in the Super Bowl 8 times, the most of any team. Of their eight appearances they have won five Super Bowl titles. The team's had most of its success between 1966-1996.
