Team Information
The New York Giants, founded in 1925, are one of the oldest teams in the NFL.
Over the years the Giants have been given several nicknames such as the Big Blue Wrecking Crew, Big Blue, G-Men, The Giants and The New York Football Giants. The New York Football Giants is the legal corporate name of the team. They did this to separate themselves from the baseball team which, up until 1957, had the same name.
The Giants have the distinction, along with the Colts, of playing in the first game televised to a national audience in 1958. It remains the most watched football game on television. The game has been dubbed "the greatest game ever played". With a last minute field goal the game went into overtime, a first in NFL history. Ultimately the Giants lost to the Colts 23-17.
The 2005 season saw the Giants return as NFC East Champions again. Check out current NFL spreads at LinesMaker.com.
