Team Information
Founded in 1960, the New York Jets were first named the Titans. In 1963 they were renamed the Jets. This name was chosen after a planned move to Shea Stadium and the close proximity to the airport where jets could always be heard flying overhead.
Since then their official colors are green and white. This is the reason why they are also known as "Gang Green".
Currently the Jets official stadium is Giants Stadium, also known as "The Meadowlands" to avoid misconceptions with the New York Giants who also play there.
Their achievements include a Super Bowl Championship in 1968 and the more recent AFC East championships of 1998 and 2002, a good reason for a pro football wager on the team.
