Team Information
The Tennessee Titans were founded in 1960 as the Houston Oilers. They relocated to Nashville in 1997 to become the Tennessee Oilers for two seasons. The name changed to the Titans in 1999. The name the Titans was chosen to represent strength and leadership and also to reflect the Greek heritage of Nashville.
In 1999 with the completion of their new stadium, LP Field, the Titans had their best season on record. They finished the regular season with a 13-3 record. They beat the Buffalo Bills in their first playoff game. The game was not without controversy after a lateral pass led to a touchdown. The Bills argued that it was a forward pass, the play was reviewed but was inconclusive. The original call was not changed. The Titans went all the way to Super Bowl XXXIV. Unfortunately they lost to the St. Louis Rams. If you want nfl wagering the Titans are a good bet.
The team's colors are navy, Titans blue, white and red. Their current logo consists of three stars in a circle, similar to the Tennessee flag, a large T with flames. The former logo (when they were known as the Houston Oilers) was an oil derrick.
