Team Information
As the first American team for the NHL, the Boston Bruins name derives from the brown bear and was given to the team in order to portray agility, speed and animal spirit. This name also served well with the team's colors brown and gold.

The team's first seasons weren't exceptional but after just three years, the Bruin's performance started to change positively. By 1927 they acquired their first star. The defense Eddie Shore came from the west after the collapse of the Western Hockey League, which the Bruins took a pretty good advantage of.
