Team Information
The concept behind the Nashville Predators logo and name are meant to honor the fossils that were found in 1971 in Nashville by some construction workers that were busy building the AmSouth Center. The fossil skull was from a saber-tooth cat that has been extinct for at least 10,000 years and only five other fossils of this kind have been found in North America.

To show their support the Nashville fans have created a unique tradition which consists on fans throwing catfish onto the ice, being the catfish a southern trademark.
