Team Information
Owned by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), the Toronto Maple Leafs is an active member of the NHL. Their home arena is called the Air Canada Centre (ACC). The Maple Leafs have been known as The Toronto Arenas from 1917 to 1919, then in 1919 they changed their name to The Toronto St. Patricks because of the increasing number of Irish immigrants living in Toronto. This name would be kept until 1927 and finally, that year they changed their name again to Toronto Maple Leafs. Although from 1912 to 1917 the team was called The Toronto Blue Shirts, the NHL doesn't recognize the connection between that team and today's Maple Leaf's.

During the time of the St. Patricks, the team's colors were changed to green and white. During this period the franchise wasn't as successful as it was expected. After eight seasons the team was bought by Conn Smythe and a group of investors, who decided the team should stay in Toronto, after some people were arguing the team should be moved to Philadelphia. Smythe not only became the General Manager but also coached the team for 3 seasons. He also changed the team's colors back to the original blue and white scheme the team had abandoned in 1919 when it became the St. Patricks. After a few months Smythe decided changing the name to Maple Leafs, inspired by a scouting team he had been part of during the World War I. Smythe being a patriot also liked the name because it was familiar with Canada.

This season, Las Vegas NHL odds favor the Maple Leafs as one of the favorites. Don't miss out on this upcoming season and be a part of the NHL gambling experience with LinesMaker.com
