For example, in the 2006–2007 basketball season the #1 and the #2 team met during the regular season. It was the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Wisconsin Badgers. This game was hyped-up by the media and was much anticipated by college basketball fans. And it should’ve been. The top two teams in the country meeting is a big deal.
When the NCAA Championship finally rolls around in March, there are many marquee match-ups that take place. During the Championship teams are placed in one of four brackets and then seeded one through sixteen. This creates great and exciting match–ups in every round of the Championship. Of course in the early rounds there may be some blowouts, but as the Championship wears on all of the match-ups become very competitive. This creates a lot of excitement for players, coaches, and fans alike.
Throughout the college basketball season and in the NCAA Championship there are many great match-ups. For fans, these games are fun and exciting to watch.
