There will be heavy betting on this race as the public bettors on sports hope to get their monies’ worth. The race is 1 ½ miles in distance, the longest of the three races. This is the 139th edition of the Belmont Stakes and it promises to be a lot closer than the 1973 version. In that race, Triple Crown winner Secretariat ran away from the field to coast to an incredible 32 length victory.
